Simmered Squash (Feb 12, 2010)

We moved from Mexican to Korean.  Ethan made a very tasty and filling meal which included a variety of banchan.

He boiled some kabocha squash, simmered in mirin, soy sauce and dashi, with a bit of sesame  oil and toasted sesame seeds:

The daikon, was boiled along with the squash but took a bit longer to cook: 

Zucchini was sauteed in garlic, sesame seed oil, and soy sauce:

And now we're sitting on the couch watching the Vancouver Olympic Opening Ceremony ; )
