Blue Hill at Stone Barns (January 16, 2010)

We went to Blue Hill at Stone Barns and had their 8 course "farmer's feast" and split a wine pairing. Everything was wonderful, but the squab and the salt-baked rutabaga were particular standouts.

Flor de Mayo (January 15, 2010)

Lomo Saltado

We went to Flor de Mayo on Amsterdam & 83rd. It's a Peruvian/Chinese restaurant.

We ordered our favorite Lomo Saltado (stir fried beef with french fries over yellow rice), tried Country Duck ("a traditional looked duck dish over with an authentic brown sauce"), and fried sweet plantains. The Lomo Saltado was great (as always), the duck was so-so, and the plantains never arrived.
